The new 2010 model year Vauxhall Corsa has been nipped and tucked, tweaked and polished to produce an impressive average 13% fuel saving across the range.Five out of the six Corsa engines now produce less than 125g/km and the 2010 Corsa Ecoflex diesel now manages up to 76.3mpg (on the Government's not-especially-representative combined figures).How have they made the Corsas so much cleaner?Just good old-fashioned engine tuning, apparently. The lowdown
Here's the new benchmark for hot hatch acceleration: the 261bhp Audi S3 quattro. Up there with the most powerful hot hatches – the 261bhp BMW 130i and Volkswagen's 250bhp Golf R32 – the S3 is due in the UK in January 2007. Audi claims it despatches the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 5.7sec.

When Ron Dennis left McLaren F1 recently, he said he wasn’t putting his feet up, but had so many other things to do within McLaren that he’d be busier than ever. We’ve brought various bits of information about the McLaren P11 – the F430 / LP560 size car – recently, a project that will certainly keep Ron busy, but there’s more information coming out on the new ‘Baby’ McLaren today. Auto Express is reporting that the new baby McLaren is well on the way, and even supplied the rendering we have here.
